The contact seminar in Cyprus....

The first project meeting in Antwerp, Belgium. (November 2009)

During the kick-off meeting of the ACE project, partners introduced themselves to the other partners and some practical arrangements were made. The participants of this meetings followed a workshop on ‘profiles and self-evaluation of competences of teachers and learners: Facilitating adult learning - creative problem solving’ which was given by Sheila O’Driscoll (University of Cork)

The second project meeting on Menorca, Spain (March 2010)

The partners always started their meetings by discussing the way they have disseminated the outcomes of the workshops given in the previous meeting. During this meeting partners the project website was officially launched and future project management was further discussed. Partners participated in the following workshops: ‘How to you create your own case role play?’, ‘Methods and tools of managing diversity and teaching diverse groups’, ‘Barnga – a cross cultural game’ given by Rupert Beinhauer (MERIG).

ACE PROJECT MEETINGS

The third project meeting in Lahr, Germany (November 2010)

Project management issues like the community of practice and the recommendation paper were further discussed upon. CVO Antwerpen-Zuid organized workshops on the following teaching methods: carrousel, film, C. Humphris and Total Physical Response. Partners of the WHL Graduate School of Business and Economics presented the results of a survey concerning the different national backgrounds in relation to educating the ageing. This presentation was followed by group work to reflect on the different aspects of the survey results

The fourth project meeting in Cork, Ireland (February 2011)

The partners attended several lectures and workshops during this meeting: ‘Innovation in Ageing Research: the ageing Research Cluster ISS21’ (by Dr. Caitríona Ní Laoire and Ms. Eleanor Bantry-White), ‘Experiences of CACE graduates currently studying B.Soc.Sc.’ (by Ms. Barbara Alam, Mr. Jerry Murphy, Ms. Aileen O’Reilly-Walsh) and the workshop ‘Second Chance, Moving On and Career Decisions’ (by Ms. Elena Calafat Polo, CEPA JOAN MIR I MIR MAO)

The fifth project meeting in Middelfart, Denmark (April 2011)

Besides the follow-up of general project management, partners participated in workshops on using innovative ICT with older learners. There were 3 main workshops: ‘mobile learning’, ‘parallel teaching’ and ‘distance learning’.

The sixt project meeting in Graz, Austria

All partners worked together on the preparation of the final report and reflected in small groups on the implementation and dissemination of the different workshops. These reflections can be read in the project booklet (see ‘results’).
